Choosing the Right Treatment

How do I choose the right treatment and duration?

It helps to ask yourself, “What do I want to achieve when I leave the treatment?”. Do you want to feel fixed (Remedial or Deep Tissue); relaxed mind and body (Blend Treatment); or just pure relaxation (Swedish Treatment). Each treatment achieves a different purpose – calm, relief or postural change. The length simply allows us to work/address more areas within your allotted session. <see all Treatments?>

I’m new – where should I start?

If this is your first massage, ever… start with a Blended Treatment, or Classic/Deep Swedish massage. Classic Deep Swedish would be an amazing experience as it brings in relaxation elements – this is such a great introduction to massage, and shows how genuinely relaxing massage can be. If you want a bit of fixing/stronger feel, then a Blended Treatment brings in elements of ‘fixing’ without being too intrusive, while maintaining the a relatively relaxed atmosphere.

What’s the difference between Deep Tissue Corrective and Surface Relief?

Corrective brings in elements of postural lines to identify and work a little on deep-seated patterns – it’s a good introduction to opening your eyes as to the postural issues that might underly your habitual muscular patterns. Surface Relief solely focuses on general muscle tension (without knowledge of your postural issues), where the relief is usually temporary and would generally return because underlying patterns have not been dealt with. We dwell into more Fascia & Postural Focus in your session when you select a greater depth of this in the booking. <Learn more about Deep Tissue Corrective>

I want relaxation but also strength – what should I book?

Choose Blended. It merges Swedish flow with Deep Tissue precision – your best of both worlds!

How does your approach differ from physiotherapy or chiropractic?

We work through fascia and muscular balance, not manipulation. We complement, rather than replace clinical therapy – often bridging what others miss. If you’re already looking into physiotherapy or chiropractic work, you would probably benefit most from a Remedial massage session with Fascia & Postural Focus added on: this will bring in an element of fascia work that has regularly been missed by other healthcare professionals.

I have been/am going to physiotherapist or chiropractors – what should I do?

Boost your physio/chiro treatments with a Remedial massage session with a greater portion of Fascia & Postural Focus added on: this brings an element of fascia work that has regularly been missed by other healthcare professionals – this often jumpstarts your recovery, you’ll be amazed at the results!!

Fascia & Postural Focus

What is fascia work, and do I need it?

Fascia is the interconnective web that actually shapes your posture. Think of your treatment approach, less from a ‘specific muscle’ problem, to a more ‘everything is connected’ lens – the connectivity are the 12 fascia bands that run throughout your body. By reading your body, we find underlying fascia imbalances and look at a solution/plan that also works into your current concern with your body (the aches that you’re experiencing). The result is often, pains that just go away for a very very long time. If your session is long enough, we try to complement this with suggestions of exercises you can do (or referral to physio) to support your change, at home.

How much fascia/postural work should I add?

“Some” for mild awareness, “Lots” for deeper alignment.

I’ve had this pain for years – can you really help?

Many clients feel measurable relief after their first fascia-focused session. Ongoing results deepen as posture resets naturally. This follows a modality called Structural Integration, a specialisation which we are slowly incorporating into our treatments. The typical Structural Integration plan usually has 4 to 6 sessions which addresses the dysfunctional fascia lines that exists within the body, part of which, aches within the body occur – addressing these dysfunction from a fascial perspective will keep the body’s alignment happy and the aches addressed.

Why do you recommend longer sessions for certain issues?

Deep changes take time – multiple structures and joints are involved. We don’t rush precision work. Counter-intuitively, a longer time is more palatable for people because it does actually allow us to more gradually work into the areas.

Experience & Expectations

What should I expect on my first visit?

A calm space, warm welcome and an in-depth chat about your goals before you settle into the treatment. No guesswork, just genuine care.

Can I choose areas to focus on or skip?

Tell us what matters most to you, what to avoid. Our clients range from 14 years old to 88 years old – we cater for all. The initial chat is very important to establish our guidelines and your treatment scope.

Will I feel sore afterward?

We always use a numbering scale which is calibrated at the start of your treatment. You should not feel any soreness unless you have given clear consent for higher pressure – a minority prefers this. When it does occur, there would’ve been a consent process, and you would have an expectation of this. Depending on your preference, a light tenderness can occur. It’s your body adjusting to free-er movement. Stay hydrated and rest gently.

How long will results last?

Many feel lasting relief for weeks, often months if not for a year after the treatment – it really depends on the issues and what treatment was selected to suit. Postural balance tends to hold longer with follow-up care.

Parking & arrival information

You’ll find us at 4 Elizabeth Street, Launceston, just uphill from the Colonial Hotel.

We have two client parking spaces available at the front of the property, with additional 2-hour free on-street parking on our block.

Please note that the entrance remains quite discreet for now, as our updated signage is still in progress.

When you arrive, please come up the verandah with the hanging baskets and wait at the entrance. If it is your first visit, your form will be there ready for you.

Oils & Comfort

Do you use scented oils?

We offer premium blended oils that have pure essential oils (sourced from all over the world) – only the best quality for your skin. Our oils are also water-dispersible, which means that you can easily wash it off with water. Fragrance-free or scented our range of oils are all complementary. Simply choose your selection of oil at the time of your booking.

What if I have sensitive skin?

We’ll use hypoallergenic, nut-free oil to ensure total comfort. You must tell your therapist at your session of this sensitivity.

Health & Safety

Can you treat clients with chronic or complex issues?

Most certainly, yes! In fact, we welcome people with chronic and complex issues to come visit us. We have helped hundreds of chronic sufferers find the underlying basis of some of their discomfort, discomfort which they’ve often given up thinking that they’ll have to live with forever. You’ll certainly notice the difference in one session, but we do like to give it a few goes over a few sessions to see a sustainable change.

Should I mention my condition when I book?

We understand for some, there may be many conditions… to keep the booking simple, we suggest just highlighting a few of your major conditions, especially if related to your discomfort. Most importantly, you must always let your therapist know of your conditions when you first come in (in your client intake form) – so that we take all necessary precautions to support your recovery.

Can I get massage after surgery or with a condition?

Yes, with care. Please share you full history, especially recent incidents – we will adapt to your requirement or may request clearance from your GP if needed. In general, post-surgery, we say give it at least 2 months before having a treatment, where the treatment should not be focused around the site of your surgical procedure.

Is massage safe during pregnancy?

Yes, we use pregnancy-safe oils and positioning to support your comfort from the second and third trimester onwards.

Pricing & Policies

Why are some sessions longer or higher-priced?

More time allows detailed work, especially when dealing with structural/fascia/postural work. Prices reflect effort and duration – never arbitrary.

Can I claim with private health insurance?

Yes, Remedial sessions can be claimed against your health insurance’s “extra’s” if you have coverage. Simply make a note during your booking and let your therapist know at the time of payment too. A digital invoice is sent to you (regardless of payment method) where upon you are then able to claim from your provider.

Do you have HICAPS machine?

At this stage, we do not have a HICAPS machine as we don’t have enough demand for private health claim to have one – when the demand increases, we will have the facility to process the claims on the spot.

What if I need to reschedule?

No we do not charge for cancellation. Out of respect to our therapists, we advise giving at least 24hrs’ notice so that they can make adjustments to their schedule. As soon as you’re able to, please call/txt us 0401374436 to reschedule with an alternative date/time. Please note that any complementary perks are forgone (including free 15 min on first visit booked 3 weeks ahead of time) upon the change of day/time, unless the change was initiated from our end.

Rescheduling & loyalty perks policy

We completely understand that plans change. If you need to move your appointment, please text/call us as early as possible so we can offer your original time to another client.

Please note: return-visit loyalty pricing and complimentary perks (such as bonus time or discounts) apply only to the original booking time and, where applicable, to the eligible payment method. If a booking is rescheduled to a different date/time (unless initiated from our end), those perks are forfeited and your session reverts to standard pricing.

After-hours, Sundays and public holiday fees – when do they apply?

To keep extended hours available, a small fee applies to booking that fall outside of standard hours in Launceston. This helps cover staffing, utilities and the additional time required to maintain the clinic outside the usual schedule.

After-hours & special-hours fee: +$15

Applies to:

  • 8:00-9:00 am
  • 5:00-11:00 pm
  • All-day Sunday
  • Public Holidays

Philosophy & Distinction

What makes you different from other massage/clinics?

Quite many thing, actually. Most importantly, every session is guided by anatomical insight – not routine sequences. We merge science, sensitivity and luxury to create results. You tell us your issues, we observe the way you move and we create a plan to get maximum results.

Why do people travel from Hobart or Melbourne?

Tasmania is well-known for its beautiful hiking trails – and many of our visiting interstate hikers come back and see us on their subsequent visits. We are honoured that they are attached to us. We think that people travel to see us because they feel tangible change in their posture, movement and comfort… that could be worth the journey, depending on what’s available where they live.

Payment & Loyalty Perks

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes. All major credit cards and contactless payments are accepted. Cash payment is preferred, as it lowers our credit card facility costs, which is passed on to the clients, in the loyalty perks for example: $5/$10 discounts included on subsequent visits within 2 months, non-card payment is required.

Do you have a surcharge on credit card payments?

No we don’t do surcharge for credit card payments. We are resisting the addition of surcharge by asking clients to pay also in cash. Our bank charges us per transaction for the use of the eftpos facility, but we believe that between those that pay in cash and those using card, it should balance itself out. Cash is preferred.

How do loyalty perks work?

No need to keep a ‘loyalty card’! We automatically reward consistency: visits within 2 months earn $5-$10 off instantly, applied on preferred payment methods (non-card). These benefits are voided when the appointment date is changed after confirmation

What happens if I reschedule or cancel?

Complimentary upgrades (like bonus time) apply only to original appointments booked 3+ weeks in advance and are forfeited if rescheduled. We do not charge for reschedule or cancellation. Please consider the therapist and their schedule when rescheduling ahead of time, to allow them at least 24hrs to fill your spot.

Gift Vouchers

Do you offer Gift Vouchers?

Yes – gift vouchers are available digitally, purchased by value. We process the payment over the phone using credit card. But we do require a txt from you with the following information: 1) To whom (usually casual), 2) From whom (also casual), 3) dollar value of the voucher, 4) an email address (usually yours) for the digital voucher to be sent. Vouchers last 6 months from purchase. Txt us: 0401374436 to organise your gift voucher.

What treatment should I choose as a gift?

As the gift vouchers are assigned a dollar value, the gift can be used towards any treatment. If this voucher is meant to be a treat, we usually suggest a Blended Massage Treatment (which starts at 90 min) as it is a lovely balance between relaxation and precision suitable for everyone.
